Fixed Price Turnkey Model
The Fixed Price model is applicable when the customer’s need and deliverables are specified and the project path is well defined. Since the design and execution of the project are outlined at the beginning of the project, this is a low risk option for the customer. The progress of the project is monitored in accordance with the mutually agreed scope along milestones and deliverables.
As per the guidelines of this model, the customer shall pay a pre-agreed fixed price and the B2B Commerce team shall ensure quality delivery of the project within the pre-scheduled period. The functional specification/high-level design phase is carried out at client-site typically and the low-level design, coding, unit-testing and integration testing are carried at the offshore development facility. The system designing and acceptance is finally completed at the client-site. However, the resources are so deployed to ensure that the right skills are made available at necessary locations at the appropriate time.
The typical steps followed in this model are :
- Requirement definition is communicated by the client
- We responds with its understanding of the requirements
- We quotes a fixed price for the development of the project
- On acceptance of the proposal by the client, the project plans are drawn-up
- We manage the complete development. The customer is kept informed and also involved in the reviews through weekly reports, emails, skype or telecons and joint reviews among other approaches
- The customer is provided with complete transparency into the project based on his/her need
- The acceptance is carried out by the customer and B2B Commerce provides help (onsite or offshore) during this period
- The post-release maintenance services take care of the enhancements and bug fixation, if required In nutshell, this type of model is best suited for those companies who are giving proper clarity of job required along with given specifications. Our work process and project delivery model is very excellent which ensures reliability and effectiveness along with best performance. It is best option for small scale projects with limited scope and requirements.
How We Deliver
Our outsourcing delivery model does help you mitigate risks, bring in cost reductions and enhance or meet quality expectations from the outsourcing initiative. We try and keep it simple and aligned with your business objectives. The following information should help you understand how we can deliver on the outsourcing promise.
Time and Material Model
While traditionally T&M denotes the Time & Materials engagement model, within which we provide resources to our clients charged out on the basis of time spent, at B2B Commerce. When scope is not very clear and if there is ambiguity in the scope, we recommend this model to deliver the project using T&M with Cap contracts.
Within this model, we offer you technology professionals charged at an hourly or monthly rate in all technology areas. In T&M the client have flexible to choose from an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly rate for resources. This rate is based on each team member’s skill set and relevant project experience. Alternatively, you may agree on a single blend rate for all resources involved in the project.
To effectively manage the T&M project, you need to put in place strong project managers and PM methodologies to track the progress of schedule, scope, productivity and quality. Your PMs have to make sure the lag time is avoided and idle time is reduced not to pay extra upon the project delivery.
The biggest advantage of this model is that you’re able to lock external skilled resources for the entire project duration and scale up and down flexibly to adjust to macroeconomic factors or changing project demands. Also, management by metrics or by objectives during the different phases of IT development provides better insights into the ROI and cost structures.
In order to prevent uncontrolled cost escalations, you may impose an upper limit or cap on the costs. This model is called T&M with a cap. Such restrains always help ensure your project is within the budget.
Dedicated Team Model
In this model, various resources viz. engineering, management, laboratory and equipment are reserved exclusively for the need of our customer. The customer shall pay for the products, materials and all resources deployed in the project for the complete duration. It is similar to the offshore (Time and Material basis model), but differs with respect to presence of dedicated resources. B2B Commerce is flexible about project management functionality and the project manager can be made available from B2B Commerce or client’s end.
The typical reasons for customer to go for this model are:
- It meets the long term outsourcing strategy.
- An effective and established offshore development facility which works like an ‘extension’ to the customer team.
- Dedicated team trained on your line of business, systems and processes.
- Infrastructure dedicated to your projects.
- Hardware and software tools are in sync with the customer’s development environment providing exclusive access to ‘extended’ teams, which results in higher transparency in management and progress.
- Billing as based on:
- a. Man-months expenses at the rate contracted
- b. Expenses as approved on actual for onsite work
- Full time resources work for you 5 days /week, 8 hours / day
- Suited for long term projects where requirements are likely to change / evolve with time
- Also for maintaining and constantly updating high traffic portals, applications etc
- For web development companies, resources can work on multiple projects at a time
- Daily timesheets sent to client
- Resources can work directly with clients
